A Columbia man was seriously injured Saturday night after a bicycle crash in Boone County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Authorities say the 41-year-old was riding westbound around 11:53 p.m. on Route VV near Missouri 763 when he failed to stay on the right side of the road and veered off the left edge.
As he tried to re-enter the roadway, he struck a curb, causing his bicycle to overturn and ejecting him.
He was not wearing a helmet and suffered serious injuries.
Emergency crews transported him to University Hospital in Columbia.
