Former Moberly Officer Faces Murder Trial.

The bench trial for former Moberly police officer David Kip Heyde set for 9am this morning and tomorrow in Randolph County Court

68-year-old Heyde (Hi-Dee) is charged with second-degree murder in the fatal July shooting of 23-year-old Bailey Scott.

Law enforcement authorities say he called 911 and admitted to shooting Scott twice during an argument outside his home on East Logan Street.

Heyde had been held without bond until a judge granted a $100,000 bond in November. He then waived his right to a jury trial.
