Columbia Authorities Name Deadly Crash Victim on I-70

A Columbia man was killed in a serious single vehicle crash on I-70 Saturday.

Columbia Police Department has announced that the crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. Saturday near the 132.2 mile marker in the eastbound lanes.

CPD announced that the vehicle was being driven by 69-year-old Elbert Allen of Columbia, who crashed into a guardrail. His next of kin has been notified.

He was taken to hospital in critical condition before being pronounced dead.

CPD noted that the investigation is ongoing.
