MU Students Honor 9/11 Victims With 200 Flags

University of Missouri students are making sure the next generation remembers 9/11.

For the third year, members of Sigma Nu and Beta Sigma Psi placed more than 200 American flags on the Boone County Courthouse lawn, arranged in the shape of the Pentagon.

The display honors those killed at the Pentagon, as well as Missourians who died in the attacks.

Boone County Commissioner Justin Aldred says while millions of Americans were born after 9/11, seeing MU students take part in the remembrance shows the message to “never forget” is continuing.

The remembrance continues This morning with opening remarks, an invocation and the first toll of the Navy bell at 7:46.
