Centertown Man Arrested After Sledgehammer Incident
A Centertown man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly threatening law enforcement officers who were assisting state investigators looking into an illegal burn.
The Cole County Sheriff’s Office says 33-year-old Lloyd Landrum became aggressive with deputies and Department of Natural Resources investigators at a property on Monroe Street.
Authorities say Landrum allegedly threw a pole at his mother and other objects at deputies before picking up a sledgehammer and refusing orders to drop it.
Deputies used pepper spray to take Landrum into custody. No injuries were reported. He’s being held in the Cole County Jail on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.
