A Burlington, Iowa man will spend 6 years in a Missouri prison after pleading guilty in a Callaway County Court yesteday. [Monday]
29 year old Christopher Tapscott admitted he assaulted his girlfriend by hitting her in the head with a baseball bat in September of 2016. She sustained bruises and lacerations from the attack.
After he assaulted the victim, Tapscott said he stole her vehicle and fled to Illinois where he was apprehended. He was charged there with aggravated fleeing.
Tapscott was sentenced to 6 years for the assault, 3 years for armed criminal action and 5 years for stealing the woman’s vehicle.
