St. Louis Cardinals Pitcher, Carlos Martinez helped his cause in today’s 3 to 2 win over the Chicago White Sox.
Martinez smashed his first major league home run, and threw for 7 and one third solid innings.
It had been a pitcher’s duel with Lucas Giolito until the bottom of the 6th when Martinez hit the one run homer, followed by a 2 run shot by Dexter Fowler
The redbirds are off tomorrow.
The Kansas City Royals fell 5 to 4 to the Boston Red Sox this afternoon.
The Red Sox Mookie Betts hit 3 homeruns off Kansas City’s ace, Danny Duffy, giving Boston the lead the Royals couldn’t bounce back from.
The Royals return to Kauffman Stadium tomorrow to face the Detroit Tigers.
