Storms Cause Issues For Drivers

Storms rolling through mid-Missouri are causing issues for motorist as roads cover with water.

The National Weather Service has issued flash flood warnings in Boone, Callaway, Montgomery, Miller, Morgan, Lincoln and Warren Counties.


The Missouri Department of Transportation is reporting the right lane of eastbound US 54 between county road 158 and Route T in Callaway County is closed due to flooding.

Water is over the road on westbound 54, east of Auxvasse.

In Cole County, US 54 eastbound is closed one half mile north of Route B is flooded.

In Columbia, MoDot is advising using caution on Interstate 70 east of St. Charles Road and on Route B near East Brown Station Road, as well as Blackfoot Road off Stadium Boulevard. Water is over the road in all these locations.

The region has accumulated between 3 to 6 inches of rain today in different area.

Motorists should never attempt to drive through water covering a roadway. Turn around and find another route.
