The Missouri Department of Transportation is warning drivers to watch out for black ice on their commute this (Thursday) morning.
According to MoDOT Area Engineer Brian Untiedt crews have been out all night working on clearing roads and were making good progress while temperatures were up however freezing temps have caused things to slow down.
Untiedt says chemical are not as effective with the freezing temperatures.
Drivers being asked to take their time on the roads.
