Missouri Attorney General Files Lawsuit Against Chinese Government

The Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt is suing the Chinese government, Chinese Communist Party and other Chinese officials and institutions.

Schmitt filed a lawsuit on behalf of the state of Missouri yesterday.

The lawsuit claims that during critical weeks of the initial outbreak of the coronavirus, Chinese authorities deceived the public, suppressed crucial information, arrested whistleblowers, denied human-to-human transmission in the face of mounting evidence, and destroyed critical medical research, plus permitted millions of people to be exposed to the virus.

The lawsuit seeks relief on one count of public nuisance, one count of abnormally dangerous activities, and 2 counts of breach of duty.
