3-Vehicle Crash Near Jefferson City Leaves Woman Seriously Injured

A three-vehicle crash southwest of Jefferson City left a 75-year-old Villa Ridge woman seriously injured Friday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the woman was driving west on Highway 54 at Quarry Road when she attempted a left turn and was rear-ended by a car driven by a 23-year-old man from Stover.

The impact pushed her vehicle into oncoming traffic, where it was struck again by an SUV driven by a Jefferson City man, causing it to overturn.

The woman was taken by ambulance to University Hospital.

The other two drivers suffered moderate and minor injuries.

Troopers say only one of the drivers was wearing a seatbelt, and all three vehicles were totaled.
