A Cole County judge is expected to issue a ruling today on whether voters will look at Governor Mike Kehoe’s proposal to replace the state income tax with a sales tax — and what the ballot language will look like, if they should.
Judge Christopher Limbaugh ruled Friday that the issue must be decided by June 9 in order to appear on the August 4th primary ballot. His ruling today, thereby will allow time for appeals before the ballot deadline. If he allows the measure on the ballot, it will appear as Amendment 5.
