A Columbia man has entered a guilty plea in federal court for being felon in possession of firearms.
20 year old Lorenzo Dwayne Kemp was found to be driving a stolen vehicle on October 25, 2017.
Kemp and the passenger fled from officers on foot after a traffic stop. After a brief pursuit, police were able to apprehend Kemp.
When officers handcuffed him and helped him off the ground, police saw a black bag directly underneath Kemp. Inside there was firearms and nearly 30 grams of marijuana.
Under federal statutes, Kemp faces up to 10 years in federal prison without the possibility of parole.
